Exciting news for the Children’s Center…
We are opening a brand new, state of the art, VPK classroom on the second floor (rooms 211/212) for the 2012-2013 school year!!! This classroom is big enough to hold two VPK classes and will have all brand new furniture and materials to get students ready to succeed in Kindergarten. In addition, students will have their own private bathroom complete with three stalls and two sinks, as well access to new computers, a writing center and a library. This year all VPK students will be assessed using the Department of Education’s VPK Assessment Kit and data will be entered into an online reporting system so teacher’s can track students’ progress throughout the year.
The Center is looking for new enrollments in our three year old classrooms. Please spread the word and let everyone know about the wonderful work our staff is doing here. Remember that tuition includes three (3) meals per day and is below the current market rate for the area because we cater to “working” families. Superb education and care at a great rate!
In God’s Love,

Preschool Director
LICENSING
Allendale Children’s Center is licensed by the Pinellas County Licensing Board for children’s
Centers (#C880151) and is governed by an Advisory Board which is responsible to the
Administrative Board of Allendale United Methodist Church.
Allendale UMC Daycare EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
Our educational program is based on an activities approach to learning. A weekly theme, along
with the children’s interest and abilities, help determine the experiences teachers plan and the
guidance they will give. Through the use of interest centers, discussions, stories, music, art,
dramatization, games and outdoor play, we hope to extend intellectual, social, creative and
physical learning.
Age-appropriate activities will encourage competency, creativity, cooperation and independence. The atmosphere of the school and regularly scheduled chapel services give spiritual direction to the child as well.
The staff seeks to keep parents familiar with the themes and programs the Children are following at school so they can participate in the child’s learning process at home.Parental involvement is actively encouraged.
Allendale UMC Pre School TEACHES RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR
We believe that each child is a unique, important human being with unlimited potential, for we are all Children of God. We work to develop and enhance positive self images, independence and taking responsibility for one’s actions.
Teachers set meaningful behavior expectations in respect to children’s
actions.Throughout the day, it is the staff’s responsibility to model the
intents, concerns and values that are honored in our society.
