Dear <<First Name>>,
I always find deep meaning in the prayers spoken by our ancestors. I imagine as I say the words, their collective voices joining with mine. The hardships that I face meets theirs in solidarity, working together for the liberation of us both and all the world. Maybe you too need to say this prayer with me from the Book of Common Prayer, written 130 years ago:
May we go forth into the world in peace.
Be of good courage.
Hold fast that which is good.
Render to no one evil for evil.
Strengthen the faint-hearted;
support the weak;
help the afflicted;
honor all people.
And the blessing of the Triune God,
Eternal Majesty,
Incarnate Word,
and Abiding Spirit
rest upon us this day
and remain with us forever.
May it be so. Amen.
