The Bellringer: Ringing against Injustice

Dear friend,

We had hoped August would be the month where we could start back up with Wednesday night dinners, but with Covid numbers increasing again, we are now looking to after Labor day. Safety remains our most important priority, but we are still seeking ways to remain connected with one another.

In the meantime here are some events to look forward to:

Sun Aug 7 – Blessing of the Backpacks
We will have a special time in our worship service for students of all ages and teachers, professors, and other school staff to bring up their backpacks, briefcases, or any other school tote to be prayed over and blessed for this school year.

Fri Aug 19 – Comedy Show and Open Mic Night
Join us at 6 PM for a Friday night comedy show with an open mic starring Melissa Nichols! Melissa has been performing as a stand-up comedian in the Tampa Bay Area for the better part of a decade.

Sun Sep 25 – A Service Celebrating Marriage
Our worship service at 10:30 AM will include a ceremony for Michelle Taylor and Jason Edsall as well as an opportunity for those who wish to renew their wedding vows.

An Evening in Tropical Paradise

Dr. Bob Wallace invites you to an evening of celebration benefitting the HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis clinic Love the Golden Rule on Sat Jul 23 from 5-9 PM in recognition of World Hepatitis Day. The evening will include a buffet dinner and cocktails with entertainment, a silent auction, and 50-50 raffle. The event will be at The Gulfport Casino, 5500 Shore Blvd S, Gulfport, FL 33707. Tropical attire. Please RSVP to 727-826-0700.

YOUTH GATHERINGS

The End of Summer Bash is a 6-day event. Each day youth will go on a field trip with unique opportunities for fun and excitement! We will go to the aquarium, drive go-karts, get creative at a Bob Ross paint party, jump off the walls at Sky Zone trampoline park, Splash down at a pool party, and end the week with a Lock-In at Allendale!

Ticket prices for the End of Summer Bash are $170 for the week or $30 per event. Please don’t let cost of event keep your student from participating. We offer scholarships and other options to make trips like this affordable for everyone.

During the week of August 1-5, youth will meet from 1:30 PM to 5 PM for each event. For the lock-in on August 6, youth will meet at church at 6 PM and be locked-in all night to be picked up after church at 11 AM on August 7. Learn more at www.allendaleumc.org/bash
