The Bellringer: Ringing against Injustice

Friday, September 30, 2022

Dear friend,

I hope you are safe after the storm. If you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We will have opportunities to help our neighbors to the south very soon. United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is already on the ground in the worst hit areas.

Tomorrow, Saturday, we will celebrate the life of Michael Fitzgerald. His wife Terry will be back from Mexico to grieve and remember with us. The service is at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary with a meal to follow.

Then on Sunday for worship, we are excited to host Ms. Penny Cost! She will be the rainbow after our storm on World Communion Sunday. Hope to see you soon.

Learn more about Ms. Penny Cost here.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

Thanks to everyone for the food donations we collected in August for Wesley UMC’s food pantry. They were greatly appreciated.

There is still an on going need to stock the shelves of the food pantry. So on the first Sundays of each month we would like you to bring donations to either the collection barrel in the narthex or in the tubs marked “Food Pantry” in the kitchen. First Sundays for the next three months: Oct 2, Nov 6, & Dec 4.

It is okay for you to raid your own pantry for donations. However, please be sure to check the expiration dates. The food pantry can not distribute any expired items.

Here is a suggested list of some items to donate:
Peanut Butter
Canned fruit
Canned veggies
Canned beans
Canned meats, such as tuna and chicken

Remember the holidays are approaching and items such as:
Canned pumpkin
Boxed stuffing
Canned cranberry sauce
and any canned holiday foods would be most welcome.
