Anti-Death Penalty Vigil

Join Tampa Bay area death penalty abolitionists for a vigil opposing the execution of Loran Cole from 5-6 PM on Thu, Aug 29 on the NW corner of Ulmerton Rd and 49th St N in Pinellas County. The execution is scheduled for 6 PM. Death penalty opponents have gathered here during executions for many years. It is at the intersection of two main roads in Pinellas County, and it is near the court and jail complex. Park in the vacant lot behind Checkers. We will provide signs, or you can bring your own. If the execution is stayed, the vigil will be cancelled.

Each of us has our own journey, and by sharing our experiences, we support one another. Be part of this important conversation—your voice matters, and together, we can be reminded of how acceptance can be a powerful tool for personal and collective transformation.

Workdays at Allendale

We are hosting a series of workdays to maintain our campus. Our focus will be cleaning the exterior of our buildings and trimming back some of our landscaping. September 14 and 28 8 AM-12 PM.

New “Blessed are the Woke” T-Shirt

This design was inspired by our 2023 Pride Parade float, a vibrant celebration of inclusivity and resistance. We created this shirt to proudly proclaim our commitment to equality and reject any efforts to silence or diminish our work.

Advocating for the marginalized and fighting for justice indeed makes us “woke,” and we embrace it as a blessing.

Food Pantry Donations

The United Women in Faith are continuing their collection of non-perishable food for local food pantries. Cereal, pasta, canned fruit and beans with tabs, and spaghetti sauce (no glass) are especially welcome! Collection bins are in the Kitchen and Narthex by the Sanctuary.
