Support the youth and get donuts

The youth are having a friendly competition to raise money for the youth ministry. They are selling donuts for $16 a dozen. Pre-Order donuts here: www.allendaleumc.org/donuts

When you order donuts, you will have the option to select a youth to support. Once you order, and the youth leaders have a chance to process your order, you will then be sent a code to redeem for a dozen donuts.

Doing Theology at Allendale

Join Dr. Kate Pravera and Dylan Dames for “Doing Theology at Allendale: An Irreverently Serious Exploration of Living Our Faith in 2025.” Meeting on Wednesdays from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, February 5, 12, 19, and 26, following our 5 PM community dinner. Together, we’ll explore what it means to “do theology” in today’s world, where spirituality is inseparable from the fight for justice. Grounded in the legacy of liberation theology, this class will unpack how dismantling systems of white supremacy, patriarchy, and other injustices intersects with faith practice, especially within our community.

Each session builds on rich theological traditions and lived experiences. From understanding theology as a transformative practice to engaging voices from marginalized communities, participants will reflect on topics like intersectionality, Black and queer theologies, and the challenges of doing liberation theology in a community like Allendale. The class culminates in a collaborative project that reflects our shared journey and context. No prior theological background is required—just a willingness to learn, wrestle, and grow together.

Anti-Death Penalty Vigil Feb 4 & Feb 13

Florida is executing on of it’s citizens. Governor DeSantis recently signed a death warrant for James Ford. We oppose the death penalty and will join other organizations nationwide by holding a vigil in protest on Thu Feb 13 near the Pinellas County Jail and Courthouse at 49th St N and Ulmerton Rd from 5-6 PM, the hour leading up to the scheduled execution of James Ford.

We are also gathering on Tue Feb 4 at the same location with FADP Executive Director Maria DeLiberato. This vigil a week before is a new addition to urge people to contact Governor DeSantis to stay the execution.

Chili Cook-Off 🌶️ & 🏈 Super Bowl Watch Party

Join us at 6 PM on February 9 for the ultimate Chili Cook-Off Showdown! Taste-test fiery, flavorful creations as we cheer on the football game and soak in the spectacle of the halftime show.

Bring your best dish and face the gauntlet of taste buds. 🍴🏆 The road to victory is paved with spoons, bowls, and bold flavors!
